Timeline we’re working with:
February 25, 2011 – Galliano [allegedly] makes anti-semetic remarks to a couple in Paris, is arrested by Paris police for assault and anti-Semitic remarks
February 25, 2011 – Dior suspends Galliano concerning alleged remarks
February 27, 2011 – Dior meets with accuser Géraldine Bloch in Paris
February 28, 2011 - Giorgio Armani feels sorry for Galliano, Vogue Italia Franca Sozzani defends Galliano
March 1, 2011 – Dior sacks Galliano over said alleged remarks, will continue with the Galliano show this Sunday.
While it’s never excusable to hurl slurs of any variety, it is entirely unexpected for the label Galliano assisted in resurrecting would sack him before the Parisian police convicted him. Aside from the mess he has gotten himself into, it’s beyond unimaginable to consider who would replace him at Dior. After all, he is one of the most remarkable couture designers in the world.
At least he can’t get fired from his own label.
