It's been about 8 year now where watches have been forecasted as a down trending accessory. However it's becoming more and more noticeable that watches are actually starting to trend up - this could account for, more people are looking for connivance to quickly look down at their wrists instead of searching through purses and pockets for their cell phones and celebrities have been making a statement with their own luxury watches or watches are becoming multifunctional pieces that are used as jewelry and telling time.

Trend 4 - Skeleton Designs
Another design that’s making a comeback is the skeleton design. Design houses like Krieger are reintroducing the beauty and functionality of skeleton timepieces. Since the 1800s, these designs have been popular among watch collectors. The understated elegance makes it perfect for today’s economic climate. It’s extremely high-end without shouting glitz and extravagance. One notable timepiece that represents today’s trend is the Krieger Elite stainless steel skeleton.
Trend 5 - Titanium
Thought gold is becoming popular again, the new "hot" material is titanium. You'll see it mixed with leather, other alloys or featured by itself.

With the down turn of the economy, people look to escape the bleakness and turn to bright colors to up up lift they mood. This trend also goes for watches. From makers like Fluid to Toy Watch, you can't help but smile at their bright colors and and fun looks.
However on the opposite specturm, the one color that never goes out of style is black. Luxury designers are returning to this popular color for Fall/Winter 2009. However the twist is that black is not a flat color are shimmery and glossy and sometimes even textured.
