Venessa Arizaga’s woven charm

Just like we used to obsess over trading and braiding colourful strings, nowadays we’re pretty obsessed with Venessa Arizaga’s woven line of jewelry. Channelling the schoolyard whimsy of friendship bracelets but updating them for grownups, Arizaga makes colourful pieces that are blasts from the past that manage to look wholly modern.

Working with Tuleh and Zac Posen after graduating Parsons The New School for Design in 2003, Arizaga was inspired to handcraft colourful pieces following a trip to Puerto Rico. For fall, Arizaga’s collection nods to the late ’60s and early ’70s, offering a range of crocheted materials in contrasting colours that make up the bulk of the pieces. Browns blend with pinks, oranges, and yellows to form items with intense hippy appeal. Not to head too far back in time, bracelets and necklaces are kept current with strange charms (including Russian dolls and skulls) as well as timeless pearls. The look is fun, a bit cheeky, and made for a confident wearer.

Popular stars of Hollywood stepped out for attending the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards held at Staples Center on February 13 in Los Angeles, California. Grammy night was all about best show-stopping performances and best red carpet looks.
Hottest divas of glam world were seen flaunting their killer figures in amazing red carpet gowns. The biggest winners of the Grammy awards who stole the show in their top red carpet gowns and dresses were Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Lea Michele and many more.

Sexy Singer, Rihanna stole the show in a bold and daring revealing red carpet gown. She was looking incredibly gorgeous in a white see-through ruffle striped gown from Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Couture collection. Rihanna sported trendy tousled bob and dark lipstick.

Selena Gomez looked lovely in a floor-sweeping gown from J. Mendel Spring 2011 collection. Her long wavy hair and pink glossy lips were perfect complement to her eye-catching red carpet gown.

Australian actress, Nicole Kidman was one of the best dressed celebrity at 2011 Grammy awards. She flaunted her great body in a strapless floral Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 gown. She paired her beautiful gown with animal print heels and kept her hair loose.

Hollywood star, Kim Kardashian shined in a shimmering gold gown. She showed off her full-figure curves in a fancy Kaufman Franco gown. She completed her look with nude peep-toe pumps, a snake bracelet and a pair of hoop earrings.

Lea Michele, American actress and singer opted for a black high slit Emilio Pucci gown with ruffle detailing. She accessorized her look with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and black Christian Louboutin heels.

Eva Longoria looked young and totally fresh in a black and white ruffle detailed dress by Ashi Studio. She wore black satin pumps by Brian Atwood and styled her hair in an elegant updo.

Dressed in a shimmery gown gold gown, Heidi Klum was looking Wow at 2011 Grammy awards. She was all smiles as she hit the red carpet in a high slit Julien Macdonald gown. Heidi paired her red carpet gown with peep toe pumps by Christian Louboutin.

Dianna Agron walked the red carpet wearing a fabulous black silk satin Vivienne Westwood dress with black sky-high heels.

Jennifer Lopez wowed in a metallic silver sequined Pucci dress, paired with silver spiked heels by Christian Louboutin. She was carrying a mirrored clutch by Daniel Swarovski and looked super hot onto red carpet.

LeAnn Rimes sparkled in a sequined gold Reem Acra gown with gold bangles and gold leaf earrings. She tied her hair back and sported flawless makeup.

Keri Hilson, accompanied the Eva Longoria and Jennifer Lopez by wearing a short number on red carpet. She chose a short blue strapless dress from Basil Soda Spring 2011 RTW collection.

Jennifer Hudson made her appearance at Grammy awards in a navy blue chiffon mullet gown with a dazzling bodice by Versace. She wore luxury Neil Lane jewelry and Christian Louboutin shoes.

She knew how to make pictures like these so we went out in her beutiful garden to take some pictures & after that she made some magic at her computer and wupsa, then we where there twice. Fashion Week officially begins today with top designers showing of their Fall 2011 collections at Lincoln Center. NY1's Cheryl Wills filed the following report.It's hard to make a fashion statement when the weather is so bitterly cold, but, starting today, designers from across the world are gathering in Lincoln Center to put their best boot forward!
On 12 runways, for 12 hours every day, models will sashay down the catwalk during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week – showing off what stylish New Yorkers will be wearing in the coming season.
Lifestyle commentator Robert DiMauro says, hold on to your hats.
"The deep purples, military colors, as well as the sands, the neutrals, and I think we can expect a mixing in of other color stories,” forecasts DiMauro.
Big- name designers like Vera Wang, Betsey Johnson, Carmen Marc Valvo and Michael Kors are crowd pleasers who are sure to make a bold fashion statement.
This is the second time Fashion Week is at Lincoln Center, and it seems to be growing on the fashion world.
"I think what happened is that people are getting used to that new venue and the possibilities of that new venue,” DiMauro says.
And have you ever thought about the fashion photographers who stand shoulder to shoulder to capture just the right picture?
Frazer Harrison is an entertainment photographer for Getty Images.
"It is organized chaos. There's no doubt about it,” says Harrison. “I always say the noise would burst the eardrums of a small child – quite literally."
Harrison says he usually takes 60,000 pictures during Fashion Week, but it's worth the hassle to get that picture-perfect shot.
"If you see it, then you didn't get it. That sounds bizarre, but if you actually see it with your eye, you know didn’t get it,” Harrison says. “It's not until afterwards you look through the images and you go, wow, there it was."
