Beauty Tips & Tricks

There are a lot of remedies to treat your skin. But which one is the best? There are so many products, treatments and tips, but what works? If visit the spa it can be quite expensive. So I will give you some beauty tips and tricks you can easily do at home. Believe me, you will feel like you went to a real spa!

Oatmeal.
Good for soothing and clearing the skin.

For a smooth skin it’s important to eat healthy. In this case the oatmeal is not meant to be eaten, but to be used on your face! It’s a wonderful way to calm, sooth and soften your skin. Oatmeal contains beta glucan, a soluble fiber that creates a thin, moisture-retaining film on the surface of the skin.

How to use it:
Place a handful of whole oats in a clean washcloth and use a rubber band to secure it. Next, immerse it in a sinkful of warm water and squeeze in the washcloth above a holder for four or five times. Once the water is cloudy and blended with the oats, take this blended water and splash it on your face. Now let your face air-dry. Don’t rinse your face afterwards! (If you want to towel dry your face, pat as gently as possible.)

Eggs
Improves hair's resilience and luster.

How to do it:
Whisk together 1 egg, 2 tablespoons coconut oil (rich in moisturizing fats), and 2 tablespoons sesame oil. Apply the mixture to dry hair and wrap a hot, moist towel around your head. Relax for five to 10 minutes. Without wetting hair first, work in a handful of shampoo, and then rinse and condition your hair. It helps the hair to recreate itself. Result: It maintains the texture of your hair by the presence of the important elements. It creates soft and smooth hair. Apply this mask two times a week for better results.

Coffee Grounds
To reduce your cellulite.

Many people suffer from cellulite. The cosmetic industry delivers very expensive creams and products but it doesn’t have to be expensive.
Cellulite can be treated with coffee ground. It’s very important that you do not use decaffeinated coffee because it is the caffeine that reduces the cellulite.

The secret behind the success of coffee as a remedy for cellulite is the presence of caffeine. This substance has the ability to break down fat deposits which is the major reason for cellulite. Blood flows and the circulation is stimulated by the caffeine and the broken fats and toxins are easily washed away by the body because of an increased blood flow.

How to use it:
All you need is a cheap hand lotion and caffeinated coffee. You have to grind the coffee into dust and mix the coffee grind with the hand lotion. As a result you will have a cream. Rub it into you cellulite areas and leave it for a minute. Rinse it off in the shower. Do this every day and you will see those areas get smoother and firmer.

Caster oil
The beauty solution.

Caster oil is good for almost everything. It makes your lashes grow longer and it can help treat skin problems like oily skin. It can even be used to heal skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis.
The oil can also do wonders for your hair, skin, lips, and nails. Castor oil is a not so well known beauty solution. This highly emollient oil is naturally rich in antioxidants and works as a deep conditioner to heal both skin and hair.

How to use:
To use, apply a light layer of this inexpensive beauty aid to your eyelashes and eyebrows at night before bed to help thicken the hair and aid in the growth of long, healthy lashes. You can also use it as a deep-conditioning hair treatment by applying a few drops of oil to wet hair and letting it be for 15 minutes or so. Apply a few drops to your nails and cuticles before bed to soften them and prevent cracking.

Avocado Oil
helps balance your skin and protect it from further damage.

Do you hate your oily skin and want to get rid of it? Did you try everything already, but did nothing help? Try avocado oil! Avocado oil helps the abundant fatty acids and balances the skin's moisture levels. The antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E help protect skin from further damage.

How to use it:
Combine equal parts avocado oil and evening-primrose oil (which supports collagen synthesis with its gamma linoleic acid) in a sealable bottle and shake to blend. Massage five or six drops into clean skin, and then cover your face with a warm washcloth for a minute to help the oils sink in. Leave the avocado oil on your skin for a maximum of 30 minutes. Rinse with tepid water and pat dry.

Oil Pulling
Improve your health, and makes your teeth white and healthy.

Oil Pulling is a simple, inexpensive method to Improve your health. First thing in the morning gargle with sunflower oil for 20 minutes, rinse mouth with sea salt water. It makes your teeth bling. The oil pulls all mucous, bacteria and toxins from your body through your saliva. According to Ayurvedic medicine, mucous is a poison that must be removed.

How to use it:
You take oil, preferable sunflower or sesame and put approximately 1 tablespoon in your mouth, tilt your chin up slightly and proceed to swish, squish, squirt and chomp the oil in your mouth for 20 minutes. Supposedly, you will begin to salivate uncontrollably and the oil will become like a foamy whitish liquid. Then you spit, rinse your mouth out really well with water and then brush your teeth. That's all there is to it.

Whatcha Talkin' about Wilus?!? Miley Cyrus in new Sex in the City Movie?

Is it true?
There's gossip and rumors flying around all the blogs about how Miley Cyrus will be in the new Sex in the City Movie. Though it will be a small cameo part, still she doesn't really seem to be right match for this forward thinking progressive franchise.

I mean, she's an openly proud Christian, underage mainstream Disney Channel Star.

Well, I guess she will be playing a role and her acting ability will shine on the big screen like it did in Hannah Monatana The Movie. Oh yeah and she did that cool nose ring so that gives her some street cred too, right?

Green Fashion Finds A Home In 'Ecouterre'

2009_09_ecouterre.jpg

Eco-friendly fashion often gets a bad rap, but then if everything is made to look earthy and show off the sustainability, then it's no wonder why. A new site from the founder of Inhabitat a green design blog has branched into fashion with Ecouterre, which aims to highlight green fashion which isn't necessarily made out of old capri sun packages and sewn-together T-shirts.

Although the name "ecouterre" is slightly unfortunate and we're not too sure about stories on necklaces made of solar panels, the site does look promising in terms of their featuring green fashion during London Fashion Week, and the "ask a designer" series, which recently responded to the question: "Why is Eco-Fashion so expensive?"

Let's just hope that it's possibly a step towards helping sustainable fashion shed its DIY and hippie reputation, instead of a space for highlighting unavailable concepts that will never be worn, like whatever these are.

Marc Jacobs Rumored to Appear in the Gay Version of Real Housewives

from The Cut by Amy Odell

Almost two years ago, Marc Jacobs told us he wanted his own reality show. Something about "all aspects of my life. All the drama, the intrigue, the sex, the romance, the work. I’m a shameless human being.” Today, the Daily News reports Jacobs is rumored to have signed on to participate in a reality show that gay network Logo reportedly has in the works and is like a gay version of The Real Housewives, created by the team who makes Real Housewives. Gawker recently reported that the show is called Kept. An open casting call will take place in New York in a few weeks, according to the News, to find other "high-powered (openly gay) playboys" to star. Jacobs had told us he worried about a TV crew making his office "crazy," and certainly doesn't need extra publicity. The fashion press fawns over him plenty as it is. But still, if this happens — and it is a mighty big if — Bravo might not be the best television network ever in the world anymore.

Missoni Spring/Summer 2010 (Preview)

RUNWAY: Missoni Spring 2010 fashion
Missoni has always had that bohemian vibe, but if Angela Missoni ever made it more evident, it would definitely be in her Spring 2010 collection. It goes without saying that garments were exceptionally looser this season. Loose knits and gauze were essential fabrics, wrapped, draped and twisted into numerous Eastern European looks. But I must say, I think the collection looks far better in the neutral beiges and grays than the blues and pinks!

Jil Sander launches her '+J' collection for Uniqlo

uniqlo.jpg

Jil Sander launches her '+J' collection for Uniqlo this Thursday. This is her first complete collection as as Uniqlo's Creative Director, a position which she accepted earlier this year.

The +J collection has about 40 menswear pieces and 100 womens wear pieces. You'll see everything from knitwear, denim, outerwear and accessories.

This is pretty exciting since we really haven't seen much of Jil Sanders since she left her label (owned by Parada) in 2004 over "creative difference"

Vanessa Are You OK?

While viewing pictures from Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's wedding over the weekend all my focus was suddenly shifted to Mrs. Vanessa Bryant, and I just can't for the life of me figure out what she has on and why she chose to wear whatever it is to a wedding...I am forced to wonder if there's some stylist trying to sabotage Mrs. Bryant's style or if all her husband's basketball playing has some how affected her mentally....For additional wedding shots please visit http://www.necolebitchie.com/
